The other day I was not in a good mood. My emotions were all over the place. I glanced over at my Bible, but to tell you the truth I wanted to sit in my pity party I was having. Anybody ever had one of those moments. I wanted to think my down and out, woe is me, pity, pity, don’t you see me Lord was going to make me feel better than picking up the Word. I knew better. So, I picked up my Bible and, in this moment, I really needed the Lord to lead me because I did not know where to start. Whenever I am feeling the pity come on, I usually go to Psalms so that is where I went. I laid open my Bible and I flipped through a few pages until I felt in my spirit where I needed to stop. There it was, Psalm 136 in all it’s glory! I read it out loud and with every line I felt lighter and lighter. That’s the living Word for ya! I looked up mercy on Biblehub.com and I saw these translations: deeds of devotion, faithfulness, favor, good, kindness, loyal deeds, mercy, righteousness, unchanging love. MY GOD!!! I begin to change out mercy with the translations and I was excited!
His deeds of devotion endures forever!
His faithfulness endures forever!
His unchanging love endures forever!
…and it is towards me, it’s towards you! His mercy endures means that God does NOT give up on us. As I was reading, I started to hear an old song that I really never sang a lot but the Lord brought it to me. All I know is I heard the lyrics, “Don’t give up on God, cause He won’t give on you.”
I was totally refreshed after this. This was another reminder that resting in the Lord through thanksgiving is a powerful weapon. We must use it daily. Thanksgiving is the will of God concerning us (1 Thessalonians 5:18). Remember:
Your life may be in shambles, BUT His mercy endures forever!
The world looks like a whole hot mess, BUT His mercy endures forever!
You may not be where you want to be right now, BUT His mercy endures forever!
You may have everything you ever dreamed of, STILL, His mercy endures forever!
You may be hurting in ways that others don’t know about, HIS MERCY ENDURES FOREVER!
