You know what? I love Happy by Pharrell Williams. My body gets to moving all off beat and stuff and my daughter just shakes her head in shame, LOL! There you have it, I cannot dance!
One of the lines in that song says,
“(Because I’m happy)
Clap along if you know what happiness is to you.”
I was like yeah! I do know what happiness is to me. I was reminded of what happiness is in my devotion time this morning and it brought much rest to my soul.
Psalm 146:5
Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help,
Whose hope is in the LORD his God,
The Word of God is alive and if we cling to His Word each day it will give us hope, freedom, open our eyes, and will lift our countenance when we are down. We should be happy because we trust in the Lord and He is our hope. Nothing else!
Psalm 146 is a great book to go back and read today. As you read go through and highlight everything that brought rest to your soul in your reading. This Psalm is filled with happiness.
A song can bring us happiness for a moment, but it is our God in heaven who is the source of true happiness (that lasts) and without Him we have no help or hope.
So, whenever you hear this song you can smile even bigger because you can say, “Yes Pharrell, I know what happiness is to me.”
